About Abby
Hi! I’m Abby. Currently based in Brooklyn, New York, you can probably find me sautéeing garlic and butter in someone’s kitchen, doodling, scribbling, escaping to the forest, asking a lot of questions, and relishing those tiny moments of human connection.
I’ve always been fascinated by humans. The way we make meaning. The way we connect. The way we feel. The light and dark within each of us. The way we can’t experience true joy without knowing what the pits of grief feel like.
There is nothing that warms my heart more than encountering a connection between beings, like an act of kindness between strangers or an intimate dinner party where the conversation and food deeply nourish your soul.
I’m an experimenter, a traveler, a seeker – one who (for better or worse) learns by doing. From 2017 to 2023, I traveled to 19 countries, lived in five, and observed the way people live.
I’ve dwelled on farms in Italy, in the lush jungle of Costa Rica, in the buzzing cities of Mexico, in the soft rolling hills of Appalachia, in the salty Algarve of Portugal, and in a tiny village on a volcanic lake in Guatemala.
Throughout my travels, I worked remotely on many different projects and teams. Early in my career, I was an Executive Assistant for a public figure where I read strangers’ emails from around the world and learned just how deep our universal truths run, feeling a lot like a real-life ‘Dear Abby.’ Afterward, I moved into marketing-centric roles focusing on human-forward, personable email marketing, content writing, and indie publishing projects.
In 2021, my career pivoted as I navigated mental health struggles and became incredibly passionate about education and harm reduction in the psychedelic-assisted therapy space, which led me to become a Certified Trauma-Informed Somatic Oriented Coach and Microdose Practitioner.
All of these experiences have allowed me to fall even more in love with humans – our messiness, our complexities, our universal truths, and our longings.
Since I was young, I’ve created art as a way to make sense of the world, and I’m particularly interested in creating and consuming work that helps us feel less alone in this world. I’m finding a beautiful and unconventional way to weave together a career full of creativity, food, connection, and storytelling – it’s ever-evolving (as we all are!), and I’m grateful to share this little corner of the Internet with you. I’m excited to share my current projects and musings with you, and I hope this space permits you to create, grow, think, and reflect. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to ask any questions or say hello!
